On registry information

Want to get to your BIOS information without rebooting? Open regedit.exe (Click the Start button, select Run and type in regedit.exe), then navigate down to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Enum\Root\*PNP0C01\0000

It'll have your BIOS name, version, date and a few other odds and ends.

If you've never looked around in your registry, then by all means take a gander. You'll be surprised at what information you can find. Just be very careful not to delete anything or to make changes.
