VBOK #6 - Updates ______________________________________________________________________ Hey all, This edition is to let everyone know of some updates. 1. If your new to this mailing list, bear with me. I haven't quite got all my ducks in a row yet. There were also some people I had forgotten to add to the recipients in the beginning, so this is your first edition (See section 3c on how to get the previous editions. This newsletter is basically to let everyone know of interesting things (should be pretty much computer related), whether it be cool web sites, upgrading, Q&A, How to's, etc... 2. I've set up a real mailing list in Eudora (Note the TO: portion of the e-mail. It's not addressed to myself anymore). 3a. VBOK has turned into more of a newsletter, so each edition will now have an edition number and title assigned. I would still appreciate any submissions for articles in the newsletter (I'll even give you credit for them with a byline. :) b. Some readers have asked if they can post questions in a forum. I think this would be a good idea. I don't know all the answers, so maybe one of you will have the answers they need. c. Here is the breakdown of all the newsletters by edition so far: #0 - Filtering in Eudora (This wasn't originally a newsletter, but if you are using Eudora (e-mail program), I'll send it #1 - D/Ling non-linked files from homepages #2 - Electronics superpage #3 - Upgrade to ICQ98a #4 - Free e-mail services #5 - Upgrading from Win95A to Win95B (OSR2) #6 - Updates (This edition) 4. Two readers (Dave Smith & DB) corrected me on two of the free e-mail services I sent information about in edition #4 of VBOK. supports all four options. supports all four options. 5. There are now 62 subscribers to this newsletter. If you ever wish to be removed, just click here: 6. If there is something else you would like to see added to this newsletter, ask. We can probably work it out. 7. I do have some MAC users on this list, so I will try to provide mostly non-platform specific information, but I don't own a MAC, so there will be at times PC specific info here. I'll need your help for articles on MAC stuff if this list suddenly becomes one sided. **** Note, I will NOT re-post any submitted articles that bash one platform or the other. I have to listen to this all the time with the other mailing lists I'm subscribed to. Both platforms have distinct advantages and disadvantages over each other, so enough said on that. 8. This is going to be a monthly newsletter. I'm just like you guys/gals, I have other things to do too, so it will get out when it gets out. Also, I reserve the right to discontinue or pawn off this mailing list to someone else any time I decide to quit doing it. :) Well, that concludes this issue. Have fun.
